For the 26th time, Neubrandenburg was the setting of Europe‘s most innovative film scene. In dokumentART – films & future, we watched how films from all over the world tackle themes relating to „The Future“ through a unique perspective: how and where do we want to live – today and in the coming decades?
Different lifestyles will be experienced and reflected upon: people’s relationship with nature, machines, technology and the material world. The manner in which individuals live under the long-lasting impact of economic crisis in southern Europe will be examined, as well as how refugees imagine their future, and how we soldier on when dealing with disease and the inescapable aging process of every human being.
At the centre of our festival is the European competition selection in Kino Latücht. 44 films from 18 countries are competing for the four major awards, to be chosen by our international and student juries. There are also themes and films from and for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
