Program

 

The European Competition is the heart of the dokumentART. In 2023, almost 2000 films were submitted, from which the five-member programme commission selected and compiled 43 for the 10 competition programmes. 24 countries of production can be counted, although this number seems almost arbitrary, since it does not always indicate the languages, cultural peculiarities or codes in the respective film. In order to circumvent linguistic hurdles, the competition films at the dokumentART are shown with English subtitles for the international audience and interpreted live for the German-speaking audience.
