What do monuments stand for in our memories and public spaces? Levitate questions the histories, functions and possible futures of colonial icons that continue to define the identities of European cities today.

"Levitate" questions the role played by monuments in shaping modern European cities. Through performances on a grand scale, the artist suspends and displaces colonial icons as a challenge to their symbolic power. Through the observation of subversive actions, the film invites us to reconsider their narratives, prompting a critical examination of history and identity. It encourages us to imagine alternative futures for public spaces, sparking dialogue on the legacies of colonialism. Levitate prompts us to redefine our understanding of monuments and their impact on society, offering a fresh perspective on memory and the reshaping of public narratives.
