We see a rank of bewildered faces. Tense and uneasy, they strain their necks, whip out their phones, film the incident before them. All the while, the people become ever more upset by their powerlessness to do anything.

On 15 April 2019, a fire broke out at Notre Dame de Paris. Even as the cathedral burned, French President Emmanuel Macron was quick to announce that it would be rebuilt. A sound collage featuring the voices of bystanders turns the crowd into a collective oracle who divines the future from the flames.
