Opening

The film by French director Nicolas Philibert has won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2023. It tells the story of Adamant, a centre for people with mental health problems in Paris. A very human and sensitive film about the (hopefully) future treatment of mentally ill people, the public discourse about it and a cross-generational portrait of the micro-society in a day clinic.

Nicolas Philibert (* 1951) is a French filmmaker. He made a name for himself from the late 1970s onwards as a film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and film editor with over 30 documentaries. He gained international fame especially with his award-winning work BEING AND HAVING (2002). AUF DER ADAMANT (2023) won the main prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.
